We were in need of some coffee and hot chocolate to warm up from visiting the Locks, this place was right there. The location is perfect. It's a little place with basic, no frills dishes. We didn't eat but just got coffee and hot chocolate to go so can't say much for the food. But what we saw looked good and it will be on the list of places to try out when we are in the area. It's a good location for a quick bite. And the coffee was wonderful on rainy afternoon.

A few issues:
1. Cash only. There's an ATM inside the restaurant for a fee.
2. All pictures on Yelp are pulled from Portage Bay -and a significant misrepresentation of what they offer.
3. Low prices are reflected in poor customer service . -

Right by the Locks, I was happy to find a place to grab a cup of coffee. I wasn't expecting much from this spot, formerly known as "Nellie's," but it's under new ownership and now goes by "The Coffee Spot." Nothing fancy here, just delicious home made muffins cooked fresh daily and a perfectly pulled Americano served with a smile! Not pretentious, exactly as a coffee shop should be!
